WCRN 830 AM Radio joins the First Night Worcester family

On-air personality Hank Stoltz to be the official “Voice of First Night”

WORCESTER, MA – [December 8, 2016] – With the holidays fast approaching, First Night Worcester announces an unprecedented on-air event that will take place during its upcoming New Year’s Eve arts festival.

Hank Stoltz, the host of WCRN 830 AM Morning News, will broadcast live from 6 to 9 PM from First Baptist Church, First Night’s “hub” venue, during First Night ’17. With on-air interviews and artist performances, the show will bring the sounds and excitement of First Night to the listening audience at large. “WCRN is all about supporting the community,” said Hank Stoltz. “First Night has been bringing the community together for the past 35 years. We at WCRN think that’s pretty impressive and we’re glad to be a part of it.”

The upcoming event marks First Night Worcester’s 35th Anniversary celebration. The nonprofit is the oldest First Night in the country and has produced a New Year’s Eve arts festival in downtown Worcester every year since 1981. “We hope everyone comes out to join us in celebrating this very special milestone,” said Howard McGinn, Executive Director of First Night Worcester. “We are also incredibly excited about the opportunity to partner with WCRN and with Hank. This is something completely new for us, and we’re looking forward to sharing the joys of First Night with the folks at home.”

First Night buttons are on sale now and include a choice of styles to select from:

  • Limited Edition 35th Anniversary Button. First Night is offering a limited edition, keepsake version of its button as a special fundraiser. The Anniversary button grants access to all First Night programming and “Free with Button” activities as usual, with the added benefit of entitling the holder to premier seating at all performances at First Baptist Church, First Night’s “hub” venue. The button is on sale for $35 until December 17, with all proceeds benefiting First Night Worcester. Quantities are limited.
  • FNW ’17 Button. First Night’s traditional button is on sale as usual, priced at $10 before Dec. 25, $12 after Dec. 25, $15 at the door, kids 7 and under FREE.
