WORCESTER, MA – First Night Worcester was recently awarded a $6,000 grant from The Greater Worcester Community Foundation.  This brings the Foundation’s cumulative support of First Night Worcester to nearly $180,000 since 1998.

“The Foundation has been a true and loyal friend to us over the years and we could not be more appreciative,” said Howard McGinn, Executive Director of First Night Worcester. “Without the support of organizations like the Foundation, we would be unable to continue our nonprofit mission of bringing the arts to the community.”

Founded in 1981, First Night Worcester is a private, nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to providing access to the arts. Best known for its New Year’s Eve Arts Festival, the nonprofit work of First Night Worcester continues throughout the year with educational programs and community outreach initiatives. Taken together, the programs of First Night Worcester create a true spirit of community by providing shared cultural experiences, accessible and affordable to all.
