First Night Worcester is putting on a show, and it’s not for Dec. 31. A special fundraising concert at 8 p.m. April 26 at Worcester State University will feature two acts that were among the hits during First Night’s New Year’s Eve festivities last year — high-tech comedy and music duo AudioBody, and mind-reader and comedian Eric Dittelman. WORCESTER — It’s a new countdown for First Night Worcester, which last year had to launch an appeal to fund its Dec. 31 event. WORCESTER — In response to First Night Worcester’s recent call for help, The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. has announced that it will match, dollar for dollar, all contributions to the nonprofit organization up to $15,000.
Last week, First Night Worcester issued an “urgent appeal” to supporters and friends, saying it needs to raise $25,000 to fund its annual New Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31. Continue reading
