Executive Director ~ First Night Worcester

First Night Worcester is seeking an Executive Director who is a strategic thinker with a passion for the arts. S/he will be responsible for general operational, administrative and financial management of the organization. The Executive Director is responsible for overall operations, fundraising, finance and budgeting, marketing and communications. Working closely with the Board of Directors and Administrative Coordinator, the Executive Director develops annual programming for the event and raises funds for the New Year's Eve event and ongoing outreach programs with our partners.

Specific functions include: strategy development; planning and implementation; effective Board relations; fund development and donor communication; community relations; program management; marketing; financial management and supervision of staff and volunteers.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
• Excellent written, management, verbal and organizational skills, able to review and prepare budgets, and work well under deadlines
• Active in the cultural community and working knowledge of all genres of the arts and the ability to think organically and creatively.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office products.
• Some flexibility in the work schedule to meet the seasonal demands of the organization; some weekend and evening meetings required, including all of December 31st
• Three-five years related experience.
• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Note: The work schedule is part-time for 6 months with the fewest hours in the summer and full time for 6 months to meet the demands of the organization.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
